I have a 2004 A6 w/ 3.0. Around 130k miles. Recently, I got a flashing red oil warning along with the alarm tone. Very alarming. But just as it started, it ended and everything was OK. Now periodically, I get that warning on the panel, but again all gauges are good and there's no issue w/how the car runs. Any suggestions?? Bad sensor??

 

I just started experiencing the issue with my 05 4.2 during the last couple of weeks. I am going to call the dealer and make an appointment. In will let you know what they say.

 

The way I would approach thsi is to not drive the car until a pressure check is done and the issue is checked out, otherwise you are playing with trashing the car.
