I;m new to these forums,,i'm on bimmer forums i have a guy that wants to trade his a6 2.7t (chipped) for my bmw convertable..The engine has been replaced as well as the tranny...only problem is his check engine lights is on his abs light is on and his esp light is on..my car has no mechanical issues and no lights on..he said the codes say something about his MAF and one of the turbo's are leaking at the exhaust flange..i drove the car it's nuts ..i just dont want to get in over my head and dump tons of money into it...please you guys know your cars would you get involved in this car or walk away.

 

Depends on the BMW. More details would be helpful, but the Audi sounds like a lemon.

Turbo failure will be a minimum of 3-4K just for replacement turbos and labor (Trust me - i've been there)

 

yea it sounds like he hasn't taken very could care of it

 

I'm not a tech...but it sounds to me as if the guy wanting to trade with you is trying to push his headache and problems off on you. Don't walk, but RUN and DON"T LOOK BACK!!

 

If the deal falls through, I've got a Kia that doesn't run that I would be happy to trade for your convert.
