passenger door issue

i cannot open my passenger door from the outside only the inside. when pulling the handle it appears that there is some tension. any ideas?

take inside door panel off, look at back of external handle and see if bar goes through hole of haldle, my bet is a plastic clip has gone and that bar has popped out
