Default Pedal goes to floor???

2001 A6 4.2 brake pedal goes to the floor. It stops the car, but goes to the floor. If you pump it a few times it builds pressure. The master cylinder is full of fluid, no leaks that I can find. Is bleeding them going to do anything? I have searched and not found to much about this, anything from anyone will help.

Has anyone else had this help. I have never had a problem like this go away with bleeding. I will try this just in case it does work. Do you bleed them the same as any car furthest away to closest.
