Default Q7 18's on an 01 4.2?

hey all,
Ive seen some of the Q7 wheels and they dont look too bad. I have the chance to get a set off a brand new Q7 with some decent all seasons on em. They are 235/60/18, the rims have a 53 offset and are7.5 inches.
Thanks in advance....

the tires are way too tall, and your speedo will not be accurate, second thing is the offset of the wheel is way to high, and your rim and tire will probably hit your control arm, lastly, the rim is quite narrow, you would have troubles finding a tire and rim size combo that would be close to stock ride height. Other then that, sure these will fit. To be honest, I would say skip the rims since it's going to be alot of work to make them work. Just my $0.02.

Forget hitting the control arms... With a width of 235 and an aspect ration of 60, a tire sitting on an 18" wheel probably couldn't fit within the confines of the wheel arch itself.

The correct size tire for an A6 on an 18" wheel would be 235/40.

Do you have the sport suspension? I imagine you would. I have it on mine and I put on some 18's that my buddy was selling just to see what the ride was like. They fit great and the look was killer but the ride suffered horribly. I felt like I was in my truck for God's sake. I quickly realized that the H-Sport Sways and 17" wheels were the better bet. Ya want to know the difference...about 1/2 difference in clearance from the wheel well. Whoopppeee....! Basically..no difference other than an improved ride. Keep in mind we are dealing with aftermarket wheels only. My stocks rims (optoin package) are 245-55-17..I think..don't quote me..I always forget. LOL..

Im sorry guys, after I posted it, I actually did the math and you guys are right. Im guilty of posting before thinking, so that questions gone. But this actually brings out another question to Southboro. I read a post not too long ago where you recommended the koni FSD damper system. Ive been reading about it and the concept sounds great. Just what I was looking for, a suspension thats comfort and performance with out all the electronics to go bad . You seem to be pretty fond of themas well southboro. So the question is how would the ride be with 18's on this suspension or just stick with 17's still? Also, what are the best springs to mate with the koni's, keeping in mind that comfort is almost as important as performance.
Thanks in advance

So youd still go with the 17's? The suspension wont make the ride any better with 18's? Southboro,no comment on the Koni FSD damper system?

Yeah...I would man...I love the look of the 18's and have had them on past cars but I am a liitle older now and I prefer a nice tight ride but just not as rough and bumpy. I have the sport suspension package on mine and it rides somewhat like my A4 did with 18's. (feel all the bumps)The A6 is a heavy car...The sway bars will tighten you up in corners like you can't believe...no more sway. Ask southboro..he has them on his 2.7t. If you get the sways and the sport suspension with aftermarket 17's, you will definitely behappy. Cool looks and a tighter feel. I would stay away from dampners and coilovers..Your control arms, bearings, bushings, cv joints, yada yada will not stand up to time with these systems..My buddy does nothing but aftermarket suspension systems at Les Scwab and independently. He says if your going to do suspension add-ons, to do it right and make it last with little wear, you have to beef up everything in line. Keep in mind theses systems are bucks and are for serious drivers. Just my opinion...sway bars and cool wheels = no woories down the road with failures.
