quattro better?

My cousin's mercedes is AWD, the difference between his car and my quattro, is that his runs mainly on rwd, 90%, but when there's a need for awd, the car switches it a little, so it becomes more like 60% rwd & 40% fwd (i'm making the numbers up, but I think this is the theory behind it). I believe the quattro is always around 60%/40%, so it runs mainly on all wheels most of the time. There might be some switching, but not as much as awd, I think.
I don't think there is anything in a6s other than quattro and maybe rwd, but No I don't think there are awd that are not quattro
Quattro is the way to go though, although it makes the car a bit slower and heavier, but it's much more reliable in snow!

all i know is that i drove an A4 a year ago in the rain on a 14 hour road trip that happened all in the same day. that thing was so damn planted on the road....totally blew away the 325i.....i was driving through serious rain as if it were dry out. i think it was a 2007 and it definitely was AWD. and it was super quiet. good thats good for the nerves, ya know??? well, i'm 34 and its good for mine
i remmber giving the car back when it was all over and being extremely satisfied....and thinking, the only way they could have made that better was giving it a lil more wheelbase. so is the A6 AWD what i'm looking for?
i honestly swear there wasnt any "quattro" on that A4. is it possible for the 2007 A4 to be AWD and not a quattro?
i'm a saab and volvo guy...please break it down for me

Audi's term for AWD is quattro. So for Audi only, AWD = quattro. As for the wheel base comment, yes an A6 is wider and longer than an A4. But in most cases, it is not as sporty as A4. But it will cruise doing 100+mph all day long and feel like you are driving 65.
