Default Question for you 4.2 A6 owners

I just called the dealership and told him I'm coming down tomorrow to pick up the 01 4.2 A6 they are selling(I'm really excited). I can't find any parts for it. Basically I'm just looking for an exhaust and intake. I'm guessing that the intake consists of just a drop in filter? If anyone knows of a site that I can get parts for the car I would really appreciate it. Thanks in advance guys/gals

PS I don't want alot of power I just want to free up the breathing on the car.

300 hp is not alot of power these days. Most performace saloons are hitting 450 - 500 hp nowadays.

To answer the question, not much can be done. Make sure you don't over oil your dropin or cone filter, it will mess up your MAF sensor.

i have been checking craigslist alot lately for audi parts. (craigslist is like ebay only no posting fee) there are all sorts of stuff for sale around the minneapolis area. good luck on your purchase. i hear the v8 sounds really nice stock but let us know how a new one makes it sound. as for the filter that topic was just beat to death. not sure what would be good for the v8?

I have been toying with the idea of improving the intake myself and would be very interested in what you come up with. Seems like the scoop could be enlarged behind the grill.

My exhaust is stock and pretty quiet, I like it that way, don't feel the need to announce my presence. I'm sure there are others that can tell you about their custom 4.2 exhaust.
