Default Quick Question about 2004 A6 lip spoiler install

How do you attach the lip spoiler. Is it just adhesive. Also, where can I get the adhesive. I already saw great posts for whereto get the lip (so thats covered).

One last question.Should i just paint it my self or just order a spoiler that already matches my car. or is it cheaper to diy.?

thanks guys

i'm sure the color would probably match better if you buy one that's already painted the proper color. it'll probably cost you more in materials alone to paint it yourself, not to mention possibly having to redo it several times if you mess it up. all that's normally used for adhesive is just 3M double-sided body tape, and i'm pretty sure you can get it almost anywhere like hardware stores or body shops.

I picked up one of these: http://www.delsamotorsports.com/shop/product_info.php?products_id=46
Comes painted in the factory color of your choice at a GOOD price!

Color match & finish for mine is excellent.

so ... did you put yours on with that double sided tape? ( sounds crazy). If so what kind did you use. And is it really under 100 bucks painted for that spoiler you got.,

why does that sound crazy? almost all the aesthetic pieces on newer cars are held on with this. vary rarely will you ever see small body pieces held on with nuts and bolts anymore because many times adhesives are superior. 90% of new fighter jets are held together primarily by aircraft grade adhesive, and the same goes for the frames on aston martins, where there's hardly a weld anywhere on the aluminum, just primarily adhesive. it's not crazy, just foreign to you i assume.

Most are 3M adhesive as stated above, but some use a comb adhesive and fastener. Mine is just adhesive, no issues.
Also buy it with apint matching or gte a body shop to paint it. You want it to match your car perfectly and withstand the abuse from th weather, car washes....

have you debadged your car? Do it and you'll see how strong that dhesive is!
