Default Racing stripe on black A6?

Hey guys, we are proud 3 times Audi owners.

(My parents first Audi experience was a 2001 Audi S4 with black exterior black interior and red and blue racing stripe, then a 2004 Audi A6 2.7T with vanilla interior and midnight blue-pearl effect. As our lease is up on our A6 2.7 in January, we ordered a phantom metallic black A6 4.2 Sline that is due this October. We have decided to have overlapse with both leases because now three members of the family are driving and we need two cars and we are deciding whether to keep the other A6 or get a different Audi, maybe a Q7....)

Anyway, my question is that my parents opted for the Phamtom metallic black exterior with the S-line and our dealer is going to tint the windows. I told them that I thought a red racing stripe simular to the one on our 2001 S4 would give the car a unique look (as there are MANY A6s in our town). They are still considering it, but I am wondering what you guys think?

Would a dark red racing stripe ruin the look of the black 2007 A6?

Yes. Racing stripes belong on two types of cars: Racing cars and cars that are really ugly and are trying to look pretty.

The A6 is a very good looking car on it's own. Design elements from the A6 can be found copied ALL over the automotive industry. It's your car, but I think you should leave it alone. It's pretty as it stands. A racing stripe would ruin it IMO.

You should drop it and get rims...that'll set it apart from the others.

If you do decide to do the red racing stripe you must follow through with a faux carbon fiber wing and red neon lights.

Some big rally lights would really set it apart from the rest!

Just do it in vinyl. That way if you hate it, it just peels off. Personally, I would keep it understated. If you have to do something, I would keep it simple. Maybe do something on the bumpers. I do auto graphics for a living and it just looks cheap if you over do it.

Get a Powered by AUDI Sticker for the rear window becasue people might not know that an AUDI has an AUDI engine...[8D] Never understood this...LOL..Dude, don't do it. If you want to stand out get some conservative 18's and maybe some smoked tailights to set it apart. No stripes. People know the car is bad, you don't need stripes to prove it.
