ok i have a little problem,my battery died so i replaced it myself now the radio is in "safe mood"so i pulled the radio out and called up audi and asked them if they can give me the code they said sure,so i gave them the serial number that was on the side of the radio and my vin now there saying the radio i have inside the car doesnt belong with the car i have,it is indeed an audi radio so why couldnt they get it or are they just bullshitting me?

 

It doesn't matter if its from another car or not, if you have the serial number you can get the code. Un-less they think you jacked the radio.

 

that must be the reason,i was also thinking the same thing,,it seems like im gonna have to pay them a visit, i do understand why they did it but damn its soo out of my way to visit them

 

You need the radio code to get the radio out of safe mode, per the instructions in the owners radio manual. If you do not have the code, then only an Audi dealer can retreave the code. Originally,the codewould have been on a small card inside the owners manual. The dealer has to connectthe diagnostic cable to the car and connect withthe Audi network, to verify that the radio is not stolen, etc., before you are given the radio code.
