Hi Guys, last night after turkey dinner, i tried to start my car but wouldnt start, i tried again it started, but it started sputtering and i smelled gas like the car was flooded and the battery light came on for couple seconds and off .
has any one had this problem. i will appriciate your help. Thanks. Ed.

maybe you ate too much and the car was just responding to the extra weight

sounds like your battery may be going bad. not enough cranking amps to the starter. when you finally got it started, the voltage drop would account for the battery light being on. Operation of the alternator got the voltage back up and the battery light went off. Take it somewhere that they can "load test" the battery. You definitely want a "load test" not just a "voltage test". That will let you know if the battery is putting out enough power to get the engine to turn over.
