Default Rear Fog Lights

It was snowy and foggy here in Colorado on Friday, so I acutally got to use my fog lights for their purpose and not just for fun!!! I noticed on my rear fog lights(lights outside the license plates)the right(passenger) fog light was out! Planning to change the bulb I began reading and found one place that is supposed to be out!!! Is this true or is the bulb burnt out? Thanks!

Nope, it's really supposed to be out. Weird but true.

It is supposed to be only one working. I remember reading it had something to do with European laws and thats why they make them like that, I haven't used it in a long time and i'm wondering if I should get the 2nd one going via the DIY link.

There's been a few threads on this one. It seems that 2003 and later havetwo rear foglights and 2001 and earlier have only one. Not sure about 2002. That's the way they are made.

It is European law to have that, you will notice it in Volvos and Sabbs. I know in some older cars (like my mini) the other side would be clear and used as a reverse light.

my 2000 has only the one.

I will be doing the other one since my stupid *** mother in law keeps telling me that I have one out and I have to keep telling her that that is the way they are built and I don't have one out.

God I hate mother in laws![:'(]
