RE: rear sun visor/screen
I have a CPO 2003 A6 2.7T ~ 45,000 miles on it and two weeks after I bought the rear sun screen failed after 2 uses...the replacement had to be ordered from Germany and I was told it took the tech a day to replace it because the rear seat had to be removed. ..hopefully your is under warranty.

First, check the fuse. It is located under the dash here:
That is it, the empty slot in the beige fuse holder. It should be a10AMP fuse.
If you really want to know how to get at the shade motor...check out the install I did in my car for the OEM power rear sunshade. It is not an easy project. Yes, the rear seat has to come out, as well as the rear C and D pillars.

WOW Boston Driver, great write-ups on the swap of the rear deck with power window shade, front and rear seats. I have a 2001 A6 4.2 Sport with the rear shade and cold weather package which includes the ski sock in the rear arm rest. I have a 2002 A6 4.2 Sportin routefor delivery and was thinking about swapping the rear seats so I could maintain the ski sock. You just made my life much easier. Now you have me thinking about putting the rear window power screen into the '02. I can't imagine swapping the the rear doorpanels would be too much of a problem as I would want the side windowscreen too. Do you know if they are a difficult swap? Can't be any worse than the rear screen.
BUT, the fact that I live in Alaska and don't really have a need for the screens does tend to give pause for saving my weekend for driving versus what appears to be a big headache in installing the rear screen and power.
Thanks for your expertice.
