Relay clicking noise behind driver dash
I have read over many posts on this forum with similar problems but have yet to find out if anyone has solved this problem.
I have a 2003 Audi A6 Avant with 48k miles. When I 1st put the car in gear I notice relay clicking sounds coming from behind the driver side dashboard. The clicking sound will go away after driving the car a few hundred yards. The clicking does not occur until I actually push on the accelerator. So if I start the car and idle or even put the car in gear with the brake on the clicking does not occur. It isn't until I push the accelerator the relay starts clicking on and off.

RE: Relay clicking noise behind driver dash
Just change the relay, (red triangle) it has nothing to do with you accelerating or braking, its just a coincidence. If it continues to click after you replace the relay, you need a new turn signal switch. (the arm you push to activate the turn signals)

not a problem but more a sound issue mine does it too but not for long, turn the steering wheel and it goes off and its all down to the esp module or traction control on the later cars

I have a 2004 A6 4.2, and I have been infected with the "Clicking-Syndrome". You mentioned replacing the "Red triangle". Are you refering to the whole panel or just a relay module? Please help this non-mechanical person understand what needs to be done. This sounds like a DITY?

My allroad does this as well. Only with very slight movement of the accelerator pedal. Made me think of a drive-by-wire system (normal ?) as opposed to the hazard switch. Could someone give more detail on the fault in the hazard relay?
Thanks in advance.

Thanks everyone for your assistance!
Now where can I get the "Hazard/Relay"...online?
I found a real detailed set of instructions, but I failed to print or save them...any help with locating instructions with pics will be greatly appreciated!
