How old is your car? There is an emissions warranty on the cats, so I would call the dealer & ask if they are covered, then it's FREE!

well, i just brought my car to the stealership...8yr 80k warranty on the cats. we'll see if they honor it. they said that it should be replaced just as long as there was no mod done on it nor physical damage...what ever that means.

well hopefully they honor that and don't try to screw you by saying something stupid like "we're sorry, it looks as though a small stone might have jumped up from the highway and put a dent in one of the cats, so we can't cover it under warranty because it has been physically damaged". i've got my fingers crossed for you because it's definitely a whole lot less work to just have the dealership do it for free than do it yourself.
