Hey guys trying to find out more about this recent fuel recall. I recieved my letter sometime last week and scheduled for next tuesday to have it rectified.

Are there any techs that would be able to explain the procedure to me. I do not like fixing anything that is not broken. Nine times out of ten it leads to something else that will need fixing due to unneccessary disturbance or disruption.

How involved is the process? I read on the allroad forum that its pretty evasive and that they only "reinforce" which in laymans terms reads "patch, rig, or duct tape the problem. Has anyone serviced their rollover valve nipple?

Basically, what it comes down too...I don't like anyone else touching my baby's nipples but me!

I have a letter from AA citing
....2001-20004 A6 quattro sedan models 2.7L, 2.8L, and 3.0L
and
...2001-2005 allroad quattro 2.7L or 4.2L
are alledgedly affected, no specific VIN'S.

I would call AA to confirm. The service rep from my dealer said bring it in. So...!

I called Audi about this, and they said based on my vin# my 01 A6 Quattro is not affected by the issue, and would not be covered under the recall.

 

Any other word on this??? I got the same notice.

 

I'll be able to provide more after tuesday. I'm scheduled for it in the morning. We'll see

 

sucks for me i smell gas on my 99 and i don't get a free fix!
