Rough Idle

Rough Idle
Hi everyone i was after a little help, my manual audi A6 3.0TDI Quattro has a shakey idle this is mainly once the engine is warm but doesnt happen all the time. This goes once you start driving and this also seems to go if you turn the air conditioning on?
Any ideas what this could be? I asked my garage who was giving me an MOT to check the vacuum pipes and these are fine, the garage stated it could be a sensor and would cost over £800 to replace (to which i declined).
Any advice or help would be appreciated.

Hi there no there are no errors being flagged up the mechanic thinks it could be a fault with the dual mass flywheel as it judders slightly when setting off slowly. Does this sound right? also what could be the repercussions of not getting this fixed now as 800quid seems alot of money to stop a slight shake at idle haha

Seems like similar problems here
Hello chaps!
jsweete, did you manage to get this fixed?
If so, what was the issue?
A few months ago I became a proud owner of a 2004 b7 a4 3.0tdi quattro, but now seem to experience similar issues:
The revs fluctuate slightly at irregular intervals when idling on neutral (even in D or S, in fact), but once I get going, the fluctuations disappear. They reappear after a 5-10 minutes once parked and idling. With the fluctuations you can feel some vibrations and the engine seems a bit strained when the air con is turned on :/
No error codes have been found during the diagnostic, so still waiting for the issue to be discovered.
Any help would be much appreciated
