Default seizing engines on the 4.2. Anyone had this problem?

I recently bought a 01 4.2. My german mechanic seems to think that this motor has had problems seizing because oil is not getting to vital engine componets. Anyone else experienced this or heard of this problem? He recomended a engine flush, whatever that is.

They had a sludge problem with conventional oil. Audi subsequently requiredsynthetic.

The only flush I consider 'safe and effective' is AutoRx.
