service reminder reset + oil change Q's
Hi All,
I had the T belt changed on my A6 today (cost me $770 bucks at my indy shop) however I need to do the oil change and reset the service interval indicator. I searched arround and found the following instructions on how to do it but this is for an 02 and that was when they did the face lift, my car is a 2000 does anyone know if this is how to reset the indicator on the pre 02 A6?
Also what will the service interval reset to? is there a factory default interval?
For our '02 A6...
1. Turn off ignition
2. Depress and hold right cluster button while turning iginition on, until SERVICE appears in cluster display.
3. Depress and hold left cluster button until SERVICE text disappears.
Also Oil change questions:
Where are the filter and sump bolt (AKA the drain plug) located?
Does the A6 have a sealing ring or washer on the sump bolt? if so what is the best thing to do to seal it or what is the part number for the washer?
Thanks in advance
James

You must be very happy with your mechanic as the parts are $350-400 for TB and surroubdings.
Resset procedure is in the owners manual.
Oil filter is on the bottom of the engine, drivers side, drain plug is alwais on the bottom.
To seal the drain plug you need a washer ring just as one currently there.
The washer on myu 4000q and 2.7T are the same.
I'd suggest you get some literature about Audi, and get familiar with your car.
