Short in the brake light?

Default Short in the brake light?
Brake light didn't work - so I put in a new bulb and still doesn't work.
Is this a short in the bulb holder? Any way to test or try something else.

If it ain't the bulb - what is it?

Default Left side only. Only the driver side is not working.
It would work intermittently, usually it would begin working on its own or by jiggling the bulb. Then it stopped completely - so I tried a new bulb. Still not working.

Could the bulb holder be bad?
