Default should i cover?

ive been leaving my 2.7t engine outside under a tarp while im waiting for my k04's to get here, should i be covering the intake and exhaust with something so moisture doesnt get inside and rust it? thanks anyone

also been wondering how to make a quick simple engine stand, i saw someone a while back put their engine on a tire with wood planks across it, is this safe?

I would worry more about little critters getting in there and making a home for the winter than I would moisture since you have it under a tarp. Use the blue masking tape and you should be good to go.

I've rebuilt engines on a concrete floor. A piece of wood on a couple of tires would work. Cleanliness is the key! But, since you are just replacing the turbos and not rebuilding the engine, I would just use the engine hoist.

thanks bob, all very helpful answers. But I also have one more question, there is a bright blue thing under my front drivers side wheel well that is in the shape of three spheres connected to each other like the audi symbol without one of the circles, what is that? its so ridiculous looking. makes me feel like my car had a random pt cruiser part put on it.
