Here's what happened. The dash was making random clicking noises in the area of the hazard flasher. Couple of weeks later, signals stopped working, or would work randomly, flash once, stop, not flash at all, etc.

I ordered a replacement flasher relay from an online source. Put it in, and the signal lights now work fine, but the replacement relay still makes high frequency clicking noises at random times.

Is it possible I have something else wrong (switch maybe??) or more likely that I got a bad part. It was made in china

Do you have the possibility of trying a different relay?
Maybe the part is indeed not up to specs - voltage wise. I try lately to stay de heck away from "made-in-china" parts and goods, but they seem to be everywhere.
Can you look up a used one on Ebay from a "chopping shop" seller?

 

No luck. Tried another relay, same thing. Signals work, but the new relay makes high frequency clicking noises, at random times. Switch? Other? Anyone else have this problem?

Just an update, in case anyone else has been following this thread or comes across it in the future. I replaced the combo switch (signal light stalk) and all is well.

Hi all, im new in this forum. but does anyone knows how to replace the turn signal switch? im having the same problem. signal works, and doesnt work. but hazard light works fine.
