Default Sludge in diverter pipe 2.7t

So I was replacing the serpentine belt tensioner and found some really thick oil sitting in the bottom of the rubber elbow that leads to the diverter valve. So thick, in fact, it looked and felt like dark grease. There's only a thin sheen of oil in the driver's side charge pipe, and none in the passenger's side. Some say that the oil film is normal, but I have never come across something like this before!

I suppose it's just 10 years and 135k miles of oil buildup that's found a settling spot and just sort of dried up over time. Anyone else run into this?

I've I've found oil in my pipes before. This engine has a poor pcv system and its common to find oil in the intake tubing. Try cleaning it out and installing a catch can to help with the oil vapor problem.
