snub mount on 4.2
Hi Folks,
I have been searching up and down this and other forums about the snub mount and I need your help.
I just took my engine apart 2 weekends ago to replace all the gaskets (head, intake manifold, exhaust, etc) which is a huge PITA and takes way more time than I anticipated. Since all this stuff had to come off I decided to also do the timing belt since my main reason for even starting this project was a leaking water pump.
Anyhow I finally go the head back together with the new gaskets and cleaned off all the carbon I could find, did the intake manifold fix (the flaps were stuck) and started working on the actual TB service. while looking at the front of the engine I was searching for the Snub mount since I just added one to my TB kit for 40 bucks (APR) and figured this will be the easiest thing to do considering what I'm working on.
Now to my problem / question:
Where the heck is the snub mount? I cannot locate for my life. I found several pictures on the web where they show the location of the snub mount on the 2.7t and even the 3.0 a4 which are all located near the lower front engine bolted to the side of the oil pan (from the looks of it) - facing forward to the bumper. However on my 4.2 (2002) there is no such bracket and no snub mount. They also show the snub mount attaches to the bracket I described earlier and pushes against a square bracket on the other end of where the radiator/bumper support attaches to. Also this square is nowhere to be found.
I am truly lost, can anyone point out to me where they located this snub mount on the c5 4.2? I would prefer some pictures if anyone has them.
I'm starting to wonder if mine fell off due to age / cracking but shouldn't I still have the bracket at least?
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Well I still couldn't find it so I called up APR and send them the pictures. After I talked to a parts specialist and a tech they all agreed this car does not seem to have one (for whatever reason). There is no way this bracket and the snub fell off the car and even if there should be at least a mounting point - which there isn't one. So it seems that I have a one in a million car that does not have one (yeah right APR).
Anyhow I will try to send this POS back since I have absolutely no use for it obviously - let's see if ECS's customer support is worth anything.
