Sound deadener recommendations...
Hi,
I'm looking to buying some sound deadening material to install in my Audi A6 due to too much road noise and outside wind noise (maybe also replace weatherstrip for the wind noise).
I have seen so many brands out in the market just wondering what one would recommend. I'm looking for at least 80mils thickness and one that uses a safe and less odor adhesive.
Any opinions or recommendations is greatly appreciated!
Thanks.

Slight difference of car, but I did my Mazda MX6 in Dynamat. Not the cheapest, but considered the best. Also considered the best for adheering and staying put in hotter climates, and doesn't stink. See my thread on the MX6.com site

I think I found the problem for all that wind noise. The driver's side front and rear door has gap when it's closed. I checked the passenger side and both doors looks more sealed and closer to the body frame.
I hope maybe adjusting the strikers might fix this problem....again hope so.
Unless, there's some other way to align the doors to br more sealed when closed.

Update - I realigned to driver's side (front and rear) doors yesterday and it's sealed much better now. I have not road tested yet but did use a sheet of paper to test the gap on the top and front areas of the door.
Results, before alignment and door closed the sheet of paper would easily slide out and after alignment the sheet of paper does not slide out. Now, I need to road test it to get more accurate results.
I'm still planning on installing the sound deadening material but that might be later.
Thanks.

I had some wind noise due to the rubber door seal gradually flattening and not pressing tightly against the door frame. A cheap solution from long ago was to buy some 1/4" aquarium tubing and slide it into the groove in the seal. This plumped it out and it pressed more tightly against the door frame.

Yeah, I tried that first with some rubber seal similar to this one...
http://www.ebay.com/itm/160-4M-Car-Truck-Motor-Door-Rubber-Seal-Strip-Weatherstrip-Seals-Hollow-/280891925874?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item416676a572&vxp=mtr
and it was sealing good but the door was sticking out a little so decided to realign the frame and it was better and will test it out today. If in case it needs more sealing then will use the rubber seal and stick in between the strip.
