Could someone explain the speakers on the right side of the trunk?
How are they effective back there?

 

Thats a Bose sub-woofer. It is there to provide you with the low frequency sound, i.e bass, which is used to enhance the music quality by reducing the noise levels in the car generated from speed, road, and traffic. Sub-woofers can be placed anywhere, and they provide the effects.
