Default Speedometer going crazy...

I have a 03 2.7T 6MT, about 145k on the clock. My speedometer just started randomly not working, off and on.
I scanned it, and didn't get any relevant ones; I only had: 01304 (aftermarket radio) and 01561 & 01562 (rear doors can't unlock). I ran through VCDS on the C5 auto setting, then did a full search of all modules, just to be sure haha.
About a full second after the speedo drops, the car starts to bog slightly, which makes me think of the ABS, but it's not throwing a code. Also, sometimes when shifting, it drops HARD, like if you were to completely let off the gas at a high rpm in gear.
Any idea what it is? Or where to start?
I read through a bunch of threads, both here and AW, but everyone either had a code, or more gauges didn't work, like the tachometer or gas gauge.
Thanks.

If you have no speed sensor codes anywhere I would suspect the cluster. You can have them sent out & checked. This company is located in your home state.
BBA reman. ABS, ecu's, throttle bodies, air mass meters, MFD and catalytic converters

Thanks for the reply. I'll keep them saved.

I kinda jumped the gun and got worried ha. The check engine light came on this afternoon: 16885 P0501. So it's just the speed sensor.

The thing that confused me was the power steering. I wasn't thinking of the fact that it thought I was going 0mph so it was applying full power.
