ok.. on my way to work this evening and the front end of my '01 A6 2.8 starts sounding like a squeaky old mattress every time I go over a bump or turn (more on left turns than right). Tomorrow is the last day of my warranty period and my dealer is a slime ball that will just tell me my shocks needed grease or something. can anyone tell me what the problem is so I can give the dealer a specific thing to fix?

 

Most likely control arms...they are a problem part on Audi's.

 

ok, so excuse my lack of knowledge about mechanical things (I used to own a honda) is this something I can drive on until sunday (car goes into shop on monday)?

 

took it out to make my car payment and the rain seems to have gotten rid of the squeak, I hit it w/ a little white lithium grease, hopefully that will help.
