Squeeky steering-wheel
Hey guys!
I have a 2000mod A6 1,8T Avant. I get a squeeky sound when turning the wheel sounding like rubber against rubber or metal. Can't really say for sure, bot I dont think it's metal on metal. I have dismounted the cover under the steeringwheel down to the pedals and I have lubricated every joint and seal I could see. When the engine is cold there is no sound, but when the wall between the engine and the pedals gets worm... it squeeks like crazy... (And then I get crazy...) I suspect it's the bearing or rubberseal or whatever it is that goes through the wall and onto the "powersteeringrack" in the enginecompartement (Excuse my english;) I have also tried to lubricate from the engineside of the wall with no luck... (Very little room around there;) Has anyone of you experienced anything like this, or does anyone have some good tips to how I can get lubrication to the right place? I rely on you guys! ;) Thnx in advance. Greetings from Norway Peter |
