Okay after changing the caliper nad rotors i have developed a knok in the right front wheel area. I took off the wheel numerous times and made sure everything was tight. I finall decided to take it to the local repair shop and he told me it was the lower control arm bushing. Does this sound right and if so can i really avoid buying the whole arm

You shouldn't need to replace the control arm, unless you bent it. The only thing that they should replace is the bushing or the ball joint. Believe me you'll want to get it replace.
What did you actually loosen that would have any effect on the lower control arm, kinda doesn't make sense but hey things happen
