Default Stomping on the Tiptronic at 70 mph

Since I'm new to driving a Quattro I don't know if this is natural for the car to feel this way...when going 70 mph on the freeway and I stomp on the throttle to pass I feel a slight hesitation and very slight lurch in the transmission before it downshifts. It almost feels more like an engine miss but it only lasts about a quarter of a second at most so I don't know if I should be concerned about it or not. It's an '02 A6 3.0 Quattro with about 43k miles on it, certified pre-owned.

Any thoughts or similar experiences from seasoned Audi drivers?

Thanks in advance!

Default RE: Stomping on the Tiptronic at 70 mph

it depends what gear you're in at what rpm's. since we're driving automatic trannies it takes a second sometimes for it to "realize" it needs to change gears, in our cases especially because the 2.8 and 3.0 arent very torquey, nowimagine youhappened to somehow find yourselfdriving an automatic rs6(lol) then you floored it, the reaction would be much different for the transmission to drop gears beacause of the instant power and torque. if youre talking about what i think you are its normal lol. hope that helped a little
