Have you checked the engine codes?
(Yes, you can have codes being stored without a CEL. (check engine light))

I'm getting the same thing at the moment, but i have codes for 'Banks 1&2' 'too rich' it hesitates and stutters at exactly those speeds.

I'm hoping a new Coolant Temp sensor will fix it. Not saying this is the only thing that can cause stuttering but check to see if you have any codes.

If you mean by "stuttering" misfiring when you accelerate from those speeds, check your wires.

From the time that my engine was replaced, about 8 thou ago, my mech, who replaced the engine, told me that my miss was probably wires or plugs.

Finally, I bought plugs, (Code was misfire #1 cyl) so tried to change #1 plug. Damn. My socket is too thick wall. Plug the wire back on. Miss gone. Poorly seated wire.

Had changed the coil pack before that. Thought I had a bad Cyl 1 coil. Nope.

Have to buy a thinwall socket and change them someday soon. Damned things cost too much to throw them on the shelf.

WIRES, f'r chri'sake, go anywhere from 60 to however much you want to pay. Ridiculous!!!

Cheers,

george

Default AHA info from shop service manual

I zipped up the AHA Fuel injection and ignition section from the shop manual
this covers 97-2000 if anyone needs something else let me know and I'll try and get it to you.
Cheers
