Question Sub/Amp to Audi MMI

hey guys,

I am looking to hook up my sub and amp to the C6 (3.2). I cracked open the truck and noticed the beautifully large trunk for the specially tuned box I took forever on (haha), but then I looked at the MMI and stock junk in the side compartment and I gasped.

Funny thing is im a network administrator and very knowledgable with audio, but the audi mmi scares me. The guy i bought the car from has SW 10.6 on it. I said "why didn't you upgrade that? Its old as ****?" he said "the dealer told me its a 50/50 chance that it won't work and can fry the computer." So ever since that I have been stalling off doing this job, but it needs done, I need some bump.

My second question: The battery in the back, is that the only battery? I know my car has some type of energy management system, and my sub hits hard and sucks some juice. (I am going to put in a 8000 amp batcap for it as well) will that system be affected by this? I baby my audi and don't want a sub affecting anything or causing damage.

My amp sucks about 1600 watts. (Hifonics Brutus Titanium Edition 1600bxi) and powers some RE Audio goodness.

Any help, pictures, or anything that can apply to a C6 A6 would be appreciated. Thanks again everyone!

1. I started with 7.5 back in 2005, when I took delivery, and I am know at 33.6. The MMI upgrade eliminated the various bugs in the initial software and made the experience much more enjoyable.

2. The only battery is the one in the trunk.

...Anyone have any other ideas? Out of the thousands of people who look at this forum nobody has ever put a sub in a c6?
