Just bought a 2003 AUDI A6 AVANT 1.9TDI SPORT MULTITRONIC and find its sport suspension way too stiff for my local roads. It’s as comfortable as a catamaran on choppy water leaving it impossible to hold a drink in your hand. Note: there is zero bounce when I put my weight on the suspension – it just rises back up.

Have asked about getting replacement performance shocks but the dealers all say that it will be even stiffer than AUDI sport suspension.

Have been quoted for AUDI standard suspension but as the parts are not sold as a set, it gets expensive - €800 excluding fitting.

Does anyone know if it would suffice to replace just the springs or have AUDI implemented stiffer shocks in combination with stiffer springs for the sport suspension? It would be half the price if it were just springs or just shocks.

What happens to all the standard AUDI suspension sets when performance kits are installed? There must be somewhere I could purchase second hand suspension or even swap the sport package for a standard package? Or, is it a bad idea buying second hand suspension – how could one check it for faults?
