Default Throttle position sensor

I have a 1998 A6 30v that I bought in a not working condition. The previous owner let it overheat and drove it until it stopped. I replaced the timing belt and the heads (exhaust valves). The car runs, but will not throttle up. I am getting a throttle position sensor code. Does this really indicate the TPS, or possibly something else. Also, where is the TPS? All Data doesn't seem to want to tell me. Thanx in advance....
