Just got to work and went to wipe off the ole rims, and got some THICK-DONKEY Grease-like sludge on me rag??? Stuck me hand back there and [sm=jawdrop.gif].

Shot me in the face,with your comments. My guess is the CV Boot. A couple days ago in the rain, I hit an invisible "Butt-Hole!" One of those Moon craters that you can't see until you feel that "B"!!! Any comments will be grately appreciated

I had mine done at an indie shop for $350 parts and labor.

 

That isn't too bad. Thank you for the info.

 

Don't just do the boot -- Do a complete rebuilt axle.

 

I had mine changed on a 2000 2.7 for $212.
