RE: ticking
I've got a ticking under the hood, not sure what the part is but it I havea 99 2.8, the part that is right about the air box.
it live under the air box cover and has hoses going to it and what looks like a sensor. i dont know where the hoses go/come from.
what is it and should i replace it.

RE: ticking
I have a "ticking" in my 97 2.8, however slight, I wonder if one lifter is lazy after 96k miles and if so, I'll live with it! [&o]There are some who say synthetic oil will solve noisy lifters...I'm running Mobil One, 10-30, and the tick is still there?[&:]

RE: ticking
I have had the same problem on my 2.8 with that same sensor, I have knocked it with a screw driver to make it stop clicking, beacuse sometimes it was real loud, i didn't like the loud noise of it
I don't think they are ment to tick real loud
