Default tie rod

I have been having an issue with my tie rod recently.. usually when the tie rod is put on there is a rubber gasket or rubber that covers the ball or something like that. Mine is ripped. I have had an audi dealership look at my suspension and he didnt mention anything about it, maybe the rip doesnt matter? But If I wanted it replaced what is the estimated cost including labor? I know that tie rods arent really that expensive.

Thanks
Daniel

you can get one for 12 to 76 dollars. just had a quote. if you need just ends from 275 to 350. price from indy. if you need whole end assem. almost 400 +. not a big job. but need front alignment after. (45). some places maybe higher on parts. this is from net.

275 to 375? That seems a bit pricey just for that piece? because Tie rods are only like 30 something dollars and to replace it it thats all you need to have moved around.... A wheel alignment isnt necessary thats what my Audi dealership told me as long as they put the bolts right and align the pressure and everything right like the torque. But I dont know. I thought it would be under 190 though.

Yea, that is a little high. There a little more then $30, more like $75 per side.

YES< you ABSOLUTELY need a wheel alignment after. You are removing the steering knuckle & screwing in a new one. There is no way to get it exectally where the other one was. So you need to get the car aligned to match the front toe & make all the tires in alignment.

Anybody remember what I told " I repaired cv boot&4 brake pads&rotor surface with $140 + $120(4 brake pads)."

If you are in CA, San Diego, I can bring you rightto the shop.
