Anybody else have any experience, seeing that these other two places are like $120 more than ebay.

Well, it's your engine...................................
I have done 3 TB jobs and ECS always gave me the right parts.

Stay away from Ebay for the Kit --

I used the kit from Blauparts - do the water pump, seals and tensioners while your in that deep.

Also ---
Make sure you rent or buy the cam locking tool. The cam bar and crank pin tool from Ebay is OK.

It's a 6 hour job, not something you want to repeat (or have fail) due to cheapo parts. Caveat emptor. Will your eBay seller warrant anything? Blauparts came with almost everything (except the timing belt damper, which was extra cost) including the correct antifreeze. Whatever you do, make sure the water pump impeller is metal and not plastic. I'm coming up on my second TB job and will use Blauparts again. My daughter's 03 A4 will also be due next summer -- same kit source intended.

+1 for the BLAUfergnügen! (blauparts.com) kit! Mine came with crank and camshaft seals as well (I have a 4.2L, though). Basically, it came with everything needed to do stuff "while you're in there," very thorough, IMO. I also rented their tool kit. I'm most likely going to buy most of these tools anyway. The only thing I griped about was the use of a 5mm drill bit as a spacer. I would much rather use a machined, lapped 5mm calibration block or measured stack of feeler gages. The Bentley manual would be good to have on hand as well.

I vote for the blau kit. Mine came with the outer cam seals but NOT the inners. The inner seals started to leak about 2 weeks after I did the TB and main crank seal. I recommend replacing the inner and outer seals on the cams. They WILL leak.

Also replace the TB tension pulley and the Serpentine belt tension arm and pulley (mine just snapped).
