Default which timing belt kit to get?

I have a 1999 Audi A6 2.8 Quattro that needs the thermostat replaced, I think that it is stuck closed. The car started overheating, oil temp goes to half-way point on the gauge and water temp goes to the mark before the last one on the gauge. When I bought the car, the previous owner said that the second timing belt job was done at 150k, the car is at 151k right now. He said that he "lost" the paperwork and I didn't see any tags in the engine bay saying that the job was done. Looks like he lied to me, well anyways I am going to just replace everything since the thermostat is stuck closed. I would like to get a water pump with metal impalers, basically get a good kit with everything that I will need. I have done a timing belt job on my old a4 with the same exact engine, so it should go smooth. Any ideas where to buy the timing belt kit?

ecstuning

blauparts

jhmotorsports

fcpgroton

any of these places will sell you a timing belt kit with all the bells and whistles. don't get too hung up on the whole "metal impeller" thing. most of them are at this point, but even the ones that don't have it are different from the ones that failed

good luck

I just got the TB kit for our 1998 A4 2.8 from Blauparts; the water pump in the kit was manufactured by Saleri and the box clearly indicated the unit was "Made in Italy". This pump has a very hard plastic impeller which I have no doubt will out-last the timing belt.

Last Saleri water pump i installed was on a AVK engine , did not even make it to 20,000 miles before it was leaking. Spent last fathers day warrantying it for the customer. Stick with German made or just roll the dice!
BTW the water pump came in a Continental timing belt kit.

Bought my Ultimate Kit from ECS Tunng. It came with all name brand products, pump with metal impeller made by Graf and Continental brand timing and serpentine belts along with all necessary hardware. Has everything you need but you will have to buy some of the misc. seals and gaskets separately.

so far it looks like blauparts has the best kit, $250 and everything is included.
