my silly timing chain tensioner pad crumbled and caused the cam to skip a tooth or two...but since there was now more slack on the ,it backed off the timing enough that it drove fine...but after i put a new pad on, i fired it up and it has no compression.... i didnt check the cam alignment like a dum dum before i fired it up.... looks like its about 40° out from the intake cam.... i hope it wasnt out far enough to slap valves...

anyway my question is; ill be tearing it apart again this weekend, and i need to align the cams.... but i cant find the off colored links which it says to use as markings.... does anyone know how many links i need to leave between the cams? this is a 01 4.2
