I have a 1995 A6 with 150,000 miles on it. It has a flare in transmission between 3rd and 4th gear. The Audi shop says new transmission but I am not 100% convinced. I have also replace the battery just prior to the transmission starting to act up. In the servicde bulletins they will tell you that if the battery is removed that the transmission computer must be reset by the shop.

Does anyone have any information on this or suggestions. I would really not prefer to spend more money.
