Transmission from Reverse to Drive
When I shift from reverse to drive and opposite it knocks like it jumps, it is not hard or anything extreme just a lil bit . Also it takes a second or two to shift from R to D... but when driving it shifts smooth.
I was wondering if that is normal?

i think its normal to a certain point in automatics, if its doin it really bad then you might be low on tranny fluid. have you checked that??
my friends bmw was doing that really bad, but i cant remember how he fixed it!

that makes sense, cuz when I was changing my timing belt I disconnected those tranny hoses for cooling to remove the bumper and very lil amount of fluid leaked out maybe 1/8 of liter. I wanted to check tranny fluid and to fill up but I dont know how and I dont even know how to check the level~!!!
please if you know how let me know.
I am not really sure. but i think you have to go under the car (there is no dip-stick or w/e) and you take off the fill plug on the tranny, the fluid should be right up to the top! if not fill it up all the way.
Cuz I've been searching the forum and figure out about that. but none exactly says how to do it, aways some different stories... idk...
if u know something let me know
thanks
and about fluid, yea I had the same symptoms on my old Audi A4 2000 30v and it had 120k miles. transmission was acting the same ever since I got it ( had it for 30k miles)... I abused it a lot racing it and it still was the same....
I am just picky sometimes and this A6 is like spaceship and everything is so quiet and if something is lil bit noisy it bothers me... hehe...
but yea definitely Audi has a reason why it says fluid is lifetime so I would not flush, maybe only it in case that is the last thing I have to do. I heard many people complain that their transmission didnt work completely after flushing.
and other thing I checked my tiptronic shifts first gear automatically???!!! but other gears are manual... I guess nothing is bad?
any thoughts on this??
I know it says that this if for the A8 but the tranny is the same... http://www.audipages.com/Tech_Articl...servicing.html
NEVER flush the tiptronic, changing the fluid is great but don't flush it.
