Trying to record a cd

Trying to record a cd
So I must be doing something wrong. I have a 2014 A6. I put in a cd and choose media, then the import option to try and record it. Manual says to then to pick a source but everything is "grayed out". What am I missing?(I've tried regular cd's and a cd that I have made.
