Exclamation turbo problems

i have a 2002 Audi A6 2.7t with 60,000 miles. My turbos just went out. what is the best option for me to go to fix my problem. Is it easy to replace the turbos myself. and if anyone is selling some turbos for the 2.7t let me know.

How do you know your turbos are out? What are they doing?

They are making a siren/whining sound. plus there is no get up and go from the car. Its like there is no horse power being made for the car to go like it should be.

Hrmm thats odd. I'm new to these cars but my brother has a 93 Twin Turbo Supra and I know a bit about turbos. Maybe your piping or tubing needs to be replaced. I looked on the forums and it seems a lot of people replace it because of issues like this. And another thing, 60,000 miles is not a lot for a set of stock turbos unless you drive like a mad man. I would check for a tubing leak personally.

If you had blown a turbo they would be huge amounts of white smoke coming out of the tail pipe.

Thanks for the reply's guys. I drive my car A to b normal driving style easy on my baby. I treat her good. There was no smoke from the tail pipe. Maybe the turbos are failing. I will check for any kind of vacuum leak or c-claps that have broken off. The car just has no power when you push on the gas. and like i said the there is a whining/siren sound coming from sounds like the turbos.

You might have blown a diverter valve or throttle body boot. It's at least worth checking.

Update!

I started the car and checked under the car to see where the sound is coming from. there is a rattling sound coming from the the passenger side and underneath where the turbo is. So is the rattling sound a turbo failing? it sounds like the blades or the bearings are rattling.

Sounds like your Turbo has had its chips, be prepared for a big bill for replacement

That could be from the loose hose, as well. A noisy turbo would be accompanied by a lot of smoke out of the tail pipe. If you have babied this car, it isn't the turbos.

A blown turbo hose will result in a lot of brown or black smoke as the car tried to match fuel with air that isn't going into the engine.

Have you scanned for codes? I smell a clogged cat....

Bob
