turns over for a long time before starting
2000 A6 wagon,
Normally starts right up now off and on I have to turn key it turns over for about 5-6 seconds and starts sometime I have to try to start it again and then it will start.

Have you checked your spark plugs? I had a bad one and it made my car difficult to start sometimes.

Change your sparkplugs, change your fuel filter, and check your crank sensor. Make sure the fuel supply is not not clogged such as clogged injectors or clogged fuel filter.
