I nipped out to the shops today went here and there pulled up outside my final destination and came out to start my car, it turns and fires but dies within a few seconds. I can hear the pump push up the pressure then i hear a click in the middle of the dash somewhere and it dies instantly? any ideas before i start ripping the thing to bits? oh also i noticed the In 2 service light flashing at me and it wasnt prioer to this happening. Any help would be very welcome, oh and how to i put out the service indicator on these early A6 models cheers

 

Does anyone have in depth knowledge of the immobiliser on these old A6 versions? I think it may be the reader coil in the ignition and just need some basic info about the system and how to repair the thing etc cheers
