Hi folks, I just took delivery of an '06 A6 3.2 last night and am also new to the Audi community after driving one of the other German brands for years.

I'd like to hardwire a Valentine V1 radar detector and wanted to see if anyone has done this to their A6's? My hunch is that I should be able to tap into a ignition switched positive wire using the vanity mirror light on the passenger side.

Any help would be appreciated.

I have always wired mine to the fuse box. You can get the adapter to wire to a fuse so it turnes on when the car is turned on. Not sure how the 06 is set up but shouldn't be too hard to get to the fuse box. Probably the safest thing to do as well.
