Question what is it?

OK, this weekend I was going through the 2005 A6 3.2 that I recently purchased. In the trunk on the right hand side is the compartment where the tire changing tools are stored. Under the tools is this module, which is plugged into a large cable (through the connection at the top of the photo). This second one was just tossed unconnected in the compartment (making it so that the tire chaging tools couldn't be stored properly). What is it? I bought the car at an auto auction...it came off lease.

thanks

Google came up with: http://forums.audiworld.com/vag/msgs/16167.phtml Search for "4f0 907 801"

and MUCH more specifically: http://www.vagcat.com/epc/cat/au/A6Q...48/54/4287581/ (register if you want, it's free and the site is awesome for looking stuff up): it's #20

Thanks, that is it! And to think I had a parking brake failure shortly after I bought it! Something is strange!

LOL, that figures, never trust anything with TRW stamped on it. TRW makes mostly brake and air bag componets. Oh and they suck by the way.

I looked and the one that is hooked up has the same part number with an "A" after it. But I still have the parking brake malfunction light on all the time - shortly after I got the car I set the parking brake and it locked up. The next morning it was free, but the light has been on ever since. Oh well, have to bring it in to check it out....
