I have a 96 2.8 quattro A6 I absolutely love the car to death... but i want to make it faster. Many of the upgrades I have found havebeen for 98's and later.I know I can do a chip upgrade on it, but what else can I do? would it be more worth it to save up for a newer Audi like an S4?

 

Unfortunately there is not much you can to to a 2.8. I have a 96 A6 avant so I have looked as well.
Supercharger is alot of $$$$. Maybe an exhaust. The 2.8 is a more reliable motor. With proper maintenence it will go 200K miles.

Save up for the s4, it really dosent need anything.

 

How much more power do you get by doing a chip upgrade for the 2.8? If it's noticeable, I'dbe interested.

 

You can get low end an extra ten horses and some chips boast an extra 35 Horse power.

The car looks good.... K and N air filter, 18' inch wheels and tinted windows, so I think I will leave it like it is, and save up for an S4.

what year S4 are you looking at, 2008?

 

The only thing you can really do to the 2.8L is supercharge it, and that will only make it about as fast as a stock S4 biturbo. Its much better just to save up for an S4 which is already fast, then chip it and make it really damn fast.

 

I am looking for the latest year S4 I can get with the least amount of miles for the cheapest price. If you know what I mean. But going from my american cars..... 94 jeep wrangler, Aand a 95 vette, I am used to somthing with alittle more power than my A6...... the handleing and the whole car engineering is unbelievable, nothing like i ahve driven before,thats why I want to get another Audi
